Dr Julie Ryan

Dr. Julie Ryan graduated from UCC’s School of Medicine in 2002 with honours in Paediatrics and Surgery. She completed her General Professional Training in Cork University Hospital in 2005, working in specialisties such as cardiology, medicine for the elderly and dermatology.

 

She qualified as a General Practitioner with the Western Training Programme in 2010 and has worked full time as a General Practitioner since then, starting with Suirside Medical Centre in 2018.

Dr Ryan has post graduate qualifications in paediatrics, contraception, women’s health and medicine for the elderly. She has an extra qualification in occupational medicine and has a special interest in Occupational Health and Wellbeing in the Workplace.

 

Outside of work, Dr Ryan loves swimming, reading and live music.

Dr Tony Maher

BDS BMedSc MB BCh BAO DRCOG DCP DCH MICGP DMOP

Dr Maher initially trained as a dental surgeon, graduating from UCC in 1997. He returned to UCC in 1998 to study medicine, graduating with an honours degree in 2002.

He gained extensive experience in hospital medicine following graduation particularly in Emergency Medicine, General Medicine, Paediatrics and Psychiatry. He completed the South East GP Training Scheme in 2016 and was awarded the MICGP (Membership of the Irish College of General Practitioners).

In addition to the MICGP, Dr Maher holds post graduate qualifications in Paediatrics, Psychiatry,  Obstetrics & Gynaecology,  Medicine of the Elderly and Palliative Care.

Dr Maher has a special interest in Cardiovascular Disease, Diabetes, Women’s Health and  Medicine of the Elderly. He also provides a joint injection service to patients in Suirside Medical Centre.

He is a member of the European Primary Care Cardiovascular Society and the European Menopause & Andropause Society.
